Veterans Day Weekend with friends

We spent Veterans Day freezing our fannies off in Helen, Ga at Unicoi State Park with some of our best friends. We celebrated our bud Jesse's 25th birthday and took a few relaxing days to forget our stressful lives & create fun memories.

Most of our time was spent playing 'cornhole' [which I am Amazing at] but we also did some hiking && introduced Ben to GeoCaching.

Pictures ... of course!

Our accommodations courtesy of the Moss family.

Finding our first cache!

Hiking to Anna Ruby Falls.
At Anna Ruby Falls.

Happy 1/4 Century Birthday!

Josh wasn't too into geocaching - he preferred to kick over dead trees.

This is one of those trips that I hope we do every year. The amount of beautiful places to see is unreal and the park staff is fantastic. Josh & I will be looking for an inexpensive pop up camper very soon!

Sincerly,
The Wife

We Moved

New house - same town :)

Josh, Boss & I moved all of our home goodies to a new place just 5 minutes down the road - it is MUCH smaller than the big 'ole house we came from but is PERFECT for us!

Will post pics once I find where I packed the camera :)

Happy Anniversary to Us

They said it wouldn't last ... and 362 days later we are still proving them wrong.

... okay - nobody really ever thought we weren't perfect for each other, but it sure makes us feel a bit accomplished to thing so! I cannot believe that it has been a full year but I can honestly say it has been the most fun EVER!!! && to celebrate our year together my darling husband is whisking me off to a cabin in Ringgold just south of Chattanooga. He has planned a very eventful and marvelous mini-vacation which will include a trip to the Chattanooga Aquarium, a Lookouts game, and a stop at Rock City. I am beyond thrilled!

How did I ever get so lucky .... I mean - have you seen how cute he is??

Summer Travels

It has been quite the busy summer for us. We have had the opportunity to travel to different areas all around us. Boss has had a blast! Here is a small photo journal of our summer travels ...

February - Suches, Georgia
Special Thanks to my Aunt & Uncle for letting us use their cabin to celebrate Josh's 24th Birthday with Friends.

May - Orange Beach, Alabama
Every year around Memorial Day we travel to Orange Beach to visit my dad's family. We had such a good time this year! I think it is by FAR our most favorite vacation of the year.

July - Lake Weiss, Alabama
For the 4th of July we drove West to Alabama and stayed at Josh's G'pa's Camper on the lake. I think this was Boss's favorite vacation - he had a blast!

July - Helen, Georgia
Towards the end of the month we went with Josh's Family to Helen and stayed at a cute little cabin owned by Josh's Cousins. We walked around downtown & went on a 3 hour tubing trip!

 August - Lake Widowee, Alabama
We met Aunt Donna & Uncle Chris at the lake for some fun with their boat. Probably the most fun we have had all summer and we felt the reprocutions days afterwards - we were SO sore!!!

No more vacations for us this year - but I would say we had a very productive summer!

Sweet Tooth

My sweet tooth is out of control && I LOVE trying out new recipes. Late last week I discovered a chocolate cobbler recipe that will forever be my GO TO dessert! However, I am sad tonight. A scrumptious looking recipe that I've been eying for QUITE sometime now has disappointed me to the core. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip is a waste of ingredients... mark this as your warning! Oh well :(

In other news - our little life is going great! Working like crazy & getting ready to start back to classes. We started looking for houses again & are hoping we will be able to buy and move within a year! OH && I turned 24 yesterday ... I must say, I am completely blessed and proud of my accomplishments in twenty-four years!

Valentines Day

I don't have big plans for Valentines Day. I got the hubby a small box of chocolates ... mostly because I know he wont eat them so I can &&&& a card that specifically says "husband"  .. heehee! Hopefully he has put more thought into the holiday than I have!

Work Day Grind

Whats worse - working for very little pay ... or working in a job you don't enjoy!

Sadly, my dear hubby & I are nearing both! OKAY, I'm being a bit dramatic - we don't hate our jobs and we do get paid fair but neither of us are at all passionate about our work and pray every day that it is only temporary.

So we shall force ourselves into a new journey! We have decided that we will not continue to be unhappy & that we will strive to push towards our goals in the career world. What does this mean?

For Josh: It means going back to school! The only thing he has EVER wanted to do is coach - and to coach in the current school systems you must teach. So we have applied for jobs that will work with a full time school schedule and have applied to colleges.

For Me: It is a lot  more complicated! I have no idea what I want to do. I am in school and working hard to get a degree but when I really think about, I don't know if a classroom will be ideal for me. Maybe Josh will make enough money where I can stay at home and craft all day ... that would be marvelous :)
Josh had an interview today ... so say a prayer they call him back for a 2nd interview!

Sunday SUNDAY Sunday

Like I'm NOT going to throw a party?? Let's be honest here, I love any [ANY] excuse to throw a party & the fact that my husband is the biggest sports buff around makes this party a necessity!

So here is the plan:

1. The Food
        - Bacon-Cheeseburger Wraps
        - Hot Wings [from a local gas station ... only in the south]
        - Josh's Signature Cheese Dip
        - Football shaped rice Krispies [in Steelers/Packers colors!]
2. The Game & Games
Of course the flat screen will be showing the big game, but whats a party with GAMES!! As I promise to my husband, I will leave the board games in the closet - but that doesn't mean someone wont be leaving with a prize at the end of the night! I have created a fun game of Superbowl Bingo!
3. The Wardrobe
I'm a girl - of COURSE I know what I'm wearing to my own party! I keep it simple though - Big Star Jeans [From Love Street @ Cedarcrest] and a fashionable sweatshirt [from H&M]. Paired with Toms & a pony-tail - I'll be comfy enough to work the party without looking like a complete slouch!

Sincerely,
The Very New Mrs. L

The Beginning

This isnt REALLY the beginning ... the beginning was 5 years ago when I was cornered on a playground and kissed in a slide! He says I started, I strongly disagree - but at any rate it is 5yrs later & we are happily married with one sweet puppy, Boss.

Words are boring - here is photographic proof:
Step 1: Dating

Step 2: Engaged

Step 3: Married

&& I cannot leave out the man of the house ... BOSS!!

I am not your average blogger - I do not want fame or fortune or to sell my story for millions ... in fact - I doubt anyone but myself will ever read this! I simply want proof for my children one day that I was once a cool, skinny twenty-something :)

&& journals are outdated - a blog is much more hip :)

If you do choose to follow then enjoy ...

Sincerely, The very new Mrs. L
